TITLE: Smither Park ARTIST: Numerous LOCATION: 2441 Munger Street DESCRIPTION: Smither Park was conceived as a tribute to John Smither by his wife Stephanie. Stephanie worked with Dan Philips (of The Phoenix Commotion) to design a park that would display mosaic art in an outsider or folk art style using recycled materials. Hundreds of artists have contributed time to create a lively and unique urban park. The park is largely complete, but if you visit on a Saturday you stand a very good chance at seeing artists at work on various sections.
Smither Park is part of the Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. Related Website CONTRIBUTOR: Mary Anne Fried - Houston, USA |
