TITLE: Mission Creek Mosaic Mural
ARTIST: Lillian Sizemore and Laurel True
LOCATION: Harrison St. at 16th St., on Northeast corner
DESCRIPTION: A colorful pictorial mural of San Francisco and the Mission Creek from a historical perspective. The piece contains over 120 tile colors, 64 sections, and is 15 ft. x 8.5 ft. The detailed imagery was inspired by photographs of the area from the 1860s. The mural features native plants and the original bridge, which once crossed the river at the very intersection where the mural is located. Commissioned by Madrina Group, it is the first artwork announcing a pedestrian and bicycle greenbelt project for the city. Created in 1999.
