ARTIST: Alexi and other artists in a collective LOCATION: Wedding Chapel within blocks of the National Museum of Fine Arts DESCRIPTION: When religion was banned under the Soviets, secular chapels were built to meet the demand for wedding ceremonies. All the art in this chapel was designed by an artist collective. they designed stained glass windows, an outdoor mosaic fountain(in poor repair), and
this image of a man with a bird. They both supervised and did the creation of the various art works. This mosaic is much brighter than it appears in the photo. it uses many types of stone. CONTRIBUTOR: Richard Davis - Washington, USA |
