TITLE: Current Pope Benedict
ARTIST: Filippo Agricola and Nicola Consoni
LOCATION: Basilica San Paolo 186 Via Ostiense
DESCRIPTION: High on the walls within the church is a mosaic medallion of every pope. Pope Benedict's is illuminated and unfortunately the photo is not very clear but the detail in all the medallions is unbelievable. My husband & I felt this Basilica had a greater feeling of history and religious relevance than St Peter's in the Vatican City.
