TITLE: To New Orleans, With Love
ARTIST: Debbo Gray
LOCATION: Ben Franklin Elementary, Jefferson Ave.
DESCRIPTION: I spent Spring Break in NOLA, created a mural in the downstairs entryway to the school - the first public school to reopen after Katrina. Many students, teachers, staff, parents, & folks who just walked in off the street helped. We embedded lots & lots of Mardi Gras beads & other NOLA trinkets. I was told I captured the essence of New Orleans jazz... what a compliment! The mural is about 9'X 11'
