TITLE: Roman Floor Mosaic LOCATION: Cerro da Villa DESCRIPTION: The archaelogical excavation of a Roman Villa known as Cerro da Villa, has some lovely floor mosaics. Mostly these are outside and have no protection from the elements. Unfortunately some of them are starting to degenerate. A form of black mould is growing on some of the white tesserae and some areas of mosaic are breaking up. I left a stiff comment in the visitors book and would urge anyone else who visits to do the same. If you speak Portuguese, you could tell them direct to do a better job!
