TITLE: Free Wood
ARTIST: Laurel True
LOCATION: Reliable Tree Experts, Chapman St. @ Derby, Oakland, CA ( near IMA)
DESCRIPTION: This diptych mural was created on two concrete walls across from my studio at the time. The owner of the building agreed to let me do a mural on his walls. The business, a tree trimming company left giant piles of wood in front of these two walls for people to take. I decided to use the theme of wood in the murals and used the words :free wood: in the murals. Mixed media including ceramic tile, pique assiette, glass, mirror, fused glass and handmade tile inclusions.
