LOCATION: Purbeck House Hotel, 91 High Street
DESCRIPTION: Replica of the Bucklersbury mosaic, a Romano-British mosaic now in the Museum of London. The house was built in 1875 by George Burt who inherited the firm of John Mowlem & Co. from his uncle. The firm had found the original mosaic in 1869 when creating Queen Victoria Street.
