TITLE: Character in Education Table Set
ARTIST: Peggy Cleary with the paticipation of 220 fifth grade students
LOCATION: West Lake Elementary School, Wake County
DESCRIPTION: This Character in Education public art project was completed by artist Peggy Cleary with the paticipation of 220 fifth grade students and the generous support of the Target Corporation, United Arts Council of Wake County and the West Lake Elementary PTA. The project consists of six concrete table sets enhanced with vitreous glass mosaic tiles in designs based on ancient floor patterns from around the world. Accompanying the mosaic table tops are eighteen mosaic bench tops illustrating Character in Education words used by the NC school system to promote the virtues of good character.
