TITLE: Foyer floor/ Kellogg Hubbard Library
ARTIST: Original artist unknown
LOCATION: 135 Main Street, Montpelier
DESCRIPTION: This stone mosaic floor was included in the original kellogg hubbard building built in 1895. In the early 2000s the library was completely restored. The mosaic foyer floor was the last piece of the restoration to be completed. Restoration work included recreating portions of the center medalian and eight point star, replacing marble tiles and regrouting. Repair work was also done to stabilize the large crack that had developed in the floor. Restoration work completed by Amanda Canavan/Broken by Design and Jim Pearson/ Jim Pearson, Inc.
