TITLE: Peacock floor mosaic - detail LOCATION: Leptis Magna Mosaic Museum DESCRIPTION: Leptis magna is the largest surviving Roman city outside of Rome itself. Most of the mosaic floors have been transferred to a special Museum constructed on the site. Floor mosaics are hung from the walls. However, the finest floor mosaic is preserved on the floor and is a great work of art. CONTRIBUTOR: John O'Brien - Kew, Surrey, United Kingdom |
