TITLE: Kourion Mosaics - Gladiators
LOCATION: Kourion
DESCRIPTION: Built on a hill is one of the most impressive archaeological Mosaic sites in Cyprus. It is evident from the finds that it was an important centre during the Hellenistic and Roman periods. It was destroyed by earthquakes in the fourth century AD. House of The Gladiators: A private residence named after the mosaic depicting pairs of gladiators in combat, with their names recorded in Greek in capital letters.
